On the r/Boruto subreddit, user Significant_Shop_735 proposed a fan theory suggesting that the subtitle of "Boruto: Two Blue Vortex" refers to Sarada Uchiha and Sumire Kakei rather than the male leads. While popular fan interpretations usually link the title to Boruto Uzumaki and Kawaki—or alternatively Himawari Uzumaki—the user argues that Sarada and Sumire serve as two central emotional forces in Boruto's life.

According to the Reddit post, the current story arc places significant narrative weight on the relationships and feelings surrounding Boruto Uzumaki. Sarada and Sumire are uniquely positioned in the narrative as the only young women in Konohagakure who are immune to Eida's Omnipotence jutsu and still remember Boruto's true identity. The user posits that their shared immunity stems directly from their strong romantic feelings for him.

The theory characterizes Sarada and Sumire as two emotional vortexes pulling Boruto in distinct directions. In this view, their special status creates a dual emotional core that mirrors the dual structure referenced in the title of the manga. The user playfully added a hypothetical speculation regarding a potential polygamous outcome where Boruto ends up with both women, placing one in the Hokage office and another at home.

This perspective contrasts with prevailing theories among the fandom that interpret "Two Blue Vortex" through power sets or eye colors. Most readers associate the "two vortexes" with Boruto's Rasengan Uzuhiko technique or the blue eyes shared by Boruto and Kawaki, or the awakening of Nine-Tails chakra in Himawari Uzumaki. However, the Reddit author highlights how the personal and romantic dynamics of the story could offer an alternative thematic explanation.

The background for this theory rests on pivotal events in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, written by Masashi Kishimoto and illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto. Eida's divine ability, Omnipotence, reshaped world history, making Konoha believe Kawaki is the son of the Seventh Hokage Naruto Uzumaki while Boruto is viewed as an outsider and traitor. Only a select few characters, including Sarada Uchiha and Sumire Kakei, remained unaffected by this mental rewrite.

As the manga continues its serialization in Shueisha's monthly V Jump magazine, the mystery behind Sarada and Sumire's immunity to Omnipotence remains one of the story's unresolved plot elements. Readers continue to debate whether their resistance is tied to love, Otsutsuki influence, or specific emotional bonds, which keeps discussions about their narrative significance ongoing.
